When technology, tradition and poetry converse in harmony
"With this exceptional piece of furniture combining a sculptured frame of solid ebony with sheathed parchment panels, it was my desire to combine the unique ability that my cabinet makers possess with an
innovative procedure of imagery sublimation.
This summer I took a series of photos of the shadows cast by the rosemary bushes on the patio of my house in Sicily. I wanted to share these beautiful pictures depicting shadow and light by integrating them poetically into one of my designs. Thanks to this patented and unpublished procedure of controlled oxidation, I was able to project my pictures onto parchment panels that had previously been covered in varnished oxidized silver leaf. I then created a mosaic using the photos to decorate all three sides of the cabinet.
As a result, this piece of furniture became an imaginary and precious ‘Herbarium’ where technology, tradition
and poetry simultaneously work together in harmony."
