For 16 years now the “Darius” lamp has been one of Nicolas Aubagnac’s iconic pieces.
Originally this lamp was inspired by memories of a trip to the Acropolis in Athens. Nicolas Aubagnac returned from his journey full of fascination for the temple’s graceful marble columns, columns of perfect proportion. The Darius lamp, with its slender white silhouette, reminds you of classical antique proportions. It is entirely sheathed in parchment, a material that is both precious and sensual to the touch. The lamp stands on a base with a brass ring, like a piece of jewellery. The lamp shade, made of plaited card, allows light to filter through a diamond-shape design, thus emanating a particularly soft light that is almost magical. A great success and a classic - a piece of undisputed acclaim.
